Following two years of development, Marlo is elated to direct a full concert presentation of Carner & Gregor's ISLAND SONG, a unique, powerful, and hilarious new musical! Our incredible cast included Lindsay Mendez (Godspell, Dogfight), Sarah Stiles (Avenue Q, Into the Woods), Raena White (Dreamgirls at the Marriott Theatre, Chicago), and more.


NOVEMBER 7, 2012
Marlo collaborates with composer/lyricist Timothy Huang, directing a developmental reading of his new musical, COSTS OF LIVING through New York Theatre Barn. This exquisite piece follows two Chinese immigrants who have come to NYC to pursue the American dream. Sharing a taxi to make ends meet, their lives diverge, ending in tragedy. COL was featured in a recent New York Times Article. The phenomenal cast is led by Drama Desk Award winner Jose Llana (Spelling Bee) and Enrico Rodriguez (RENT).

The Freelance Artist's Manifesto
Marlo taught her "FAM" Two-Day Boot Camp in New York. If you're an artist or freelancer of any kind who's feeling uninspired, stuck or overwhelmed, this Booot Camp is for you.


OCTOBER 7, 2012
Marlo is thrilled to be choreographing the five-year reunion concert of Pete Mill's THE ROCKAE at Le Poisson Rouge. This is a one-night only benefit performance for The Prospect Theater Company and promises to be an extraordinary evening! Marlo created the original choreography for the show. Original cast members returning for the concert include Mitch Jarvis (Rock of Ages) and Michael Cunio (Jersey Boys, "Under the Streetlamp").


SEPTEMBER 2012
Marlo has been awared an inaugural ALEC BALDWIN SINGERS FORM DIRECTING FELLOWSHIP! She will be developing Playwriting Fellow Jenny Lane's new play, HARLOWE. The Fellowship culminates in a production in Fall of 2013.


AUGUST 21-26, 2012
Marlo directed Zoe Sarnak's new musical, A LAStING IMPRESSION at The 4th Street Theatre. The show featured Preston Sadleir (Next to Normal), Barrett Wilbert Weed (Lysistrata Jones), and Kate Ferber (Ghost Brothers of Darkland County)


JULY 27-28, 2012
Marlo directed the new family musical, MY PERFECT PET, at NYMF. The show featured music & lyrics by Jeff Eisenberg, with book by Bruce Robinson, and follows the story of a young girl who dreams of getting her perfect pet. This staged reading played at The West 25th Street Theatre.


JULY 23, 2012
The 4th installment of Carner & Gregor's Barely Legal Showtune Extravaganza, featuring incredible college students from around the country making their New York debuts with Carner & Gregor tunes at the gorgeous Le Poisson Rouge.


JUNE 28, 2012
AN AWKWARD THREESOME
Marlo once again teams up with Carner & Gregor, directing two concerts. The first, "An Awkward Threesome: Carner & Gregor and also Fornarola" -- an evening featuring the work of Carner & Gregor in conjuntion with composer Drew Fornarola at the Duplex.

Marlo directs a developmental reading of Lauren Ferebee's enticing new play, MURDER OF CROWS, produced by At Hand Theatre Company.


JUNE 2012
The Orchard Project
Marlo served as an Artist in Residence developing a new piece with playwright Anna Ziegler. The residency is supported by WET Productions. Marlo and Anna are investigating the consequences of Eve coming into consciousness, and navigating her way through the various interpretations of her story through religious and artistic manipulations.


MAY 2012
Marlo headed to Coastal Carolina University to direct a workshop of the new musical, HELEN OF TROY. Based on The Iliad, HELEN OF TROY is a comedic reimagining of the events that caused The Trojan War - and in this version, Helen is the hero! Music by Drama-Desk nominee / Rodgers & Larson grand award winner, Doug Cohen, Book and Lyrics by Zoe Samuel (Jihad! The Musical, writer/producer of the film "Spellbound").


FEBRUARY 2012
Marlo developed and directed the new musical, ISLAND SONG, with Sam Carner (Lyrics) & Derek Gregor (Music and Lyrics). The team just returned from a two-week workshop of the material at Princeton University with a cast of student performers, sponsored by The Princeton University Players.
