FALL / WINTER 2018
Marlo continues her journey as Associate Director on the new musical, Clueless, which rehearses this fall for a December/January Off-Broadway production produced by The New Group and Dodgers Theatricals. The show is directed by Kristin Hanggi, with choreography by Kelly Devine, and a book by the iconic film's writer and director, Amy Heckerling.  It features a 90s jukebox score with lyrics by Heckerling. The show stars Dove Cameron, and features Dave Thomas Brown, Zurin Villanueva, Ephie Aardema, Gilbert Bailey II, Will Connolly, and Chris Hoch. 


SUMMER 2018
Marlo makes her film directorial debut on the feature comedy American Reject, with screenplay by Kathleen Elizabeth Monteleone.  The independent feature boasts an entirely original soundtrack, and was shot in New Orleans in July/August 2018. The film stars Katheleen Monteleone, Keala Settle, Annaleigh Ashford, Billy Ray Cyrus, Juvenile, Connie Ray, Mary Birdsong, Rebecca Black, Bryan Batt, and introduces Angelica Hale. 


JULY 2018

Another thrilling development – Teeth, the new musical with Music by Anna K. Jacobs, Lyrics by Michael R. Jackson, and Book by Jacobs & Jackson, is one of only three musical to be selected for a workshop at the prestigious Eugene O'Neill Music Theater Conference in July. Marlo continues her journey on this project, directing this workshop. Music direction by Julie McBride.



JUNE 2018

Some very exciting news! Marlo will be making her feature film directing debut on the independent comedy American Reject! Screenplay by Kathleen Monteleone and Jeffery Self; produced by Full Armor Films. Shooting will take place in New Orleans.



MAY 2018

Marlo continues her journey as Associate Director on the new musical, Clueless, with a reading produced by Dodgers Theatricals. Clueless features direction by Kristin Hanggi, choreography by Kelly Devine, and a book by Amy Heckerling.



MAY 2018

On Thursday, May 3rd, 7pm an audience will be the first to experience songs from the Willard Suitcases song cycle at Joe's Pub, which Marlo has had the great honor of developing with composer-lyricist Julianne Wick Davis (Southern Comfort, Trevor). In this new work, Julianne tells stories found inside suitcases that were abandoned in an attic of the Willard Asylum between the early 1900's and late 1960's, only to be discovered decades later. Inspired by Jon Crispin's photographs of the suitcases, Julianne weaves together a haunting evening of intimate portraits of lives interrupted. Featuring Nancy Anderson, Britney Coleman, Emily Walton, Stephen DeRosa, Michael McElroy, Randy Redd, Ben Roseberry, Alex Syiek, and Sally Wilfert.  Music Direction by Matt Castle.  Tickets can be purchased here.



APRIL 2018

Marlo is the subject of a podcast for Thought Talk, hosted by Karen Tiber Leland. She discusses all things Theatrical Culinary Project, her upcoming directing projects, and some perspective on how to live and thrive as a freelance artist.

Marlo is also the subject of an Entrepreur.com article, offering words of wisdom on navigating a life as a creative entrepreneur and artist.



MARCH 2018

Marlo returns to Pittsburgh to direct a workshop of the new choose-your-own-adventure musical, Just Between the All of Us, with Music by Dave Christensen, and Book & Lyrics by Kellen Blair and Sarah Ziegler Blair, for Pittsbugh CLO's inaugural SPARK Festival for the development of small musicals. The workshop featured music direction by Dan Green and a cast led by Ali Reed.



JANUARY 2018

Marlo directs and choreographs the World Premiere of Kevin Hammonds & Kristin Bair's hilarious new musical, Up and Away! at Pittsburgh CLO. Superman meets The 39 Steps in this high-octane, comedic tour-de-force about two brothers whose farm town lives are turned upside down when one of them develops superhuman powers and moves to Big City to seek his fame and fortune. Featuring a virtuosic five-actor ensemble, Up and Away re-creates the the epic origin story of the world's first superhero complete with villains, a love triangle and your usual superhero inner crises. Will our hero use his unprecedented powers to help his fellow man, or to get the girl?  What will become of him and Big City as he struggles with Goodness vs. Greatness?  Up and Away! runs January 25th-April 15th, 2018 at the CLO Cabaret. 

The virtuosic cast features Michael Greer, Christine Laitta, Quinn Patrick Shannon, Erika Strasburg, John Wascavage, Waseem Alzer and Julianne Avolio. Scenic Design by Reid Thompson, Costume Design by Leon Dobkowski, Lighting Design by Keith Truax, Fight Direction by Randy Kovitz, Orchestrations by Matt Castle & Frank Galgano, and Music Direction by Doug Levine.
